Adopt a penguin for charity!

The Oceanarium is excited to announce that we have launched our Animal Adoptions scheme! You can now adopt a penguin at the Oceanarium and contribute to our conservation efforts!

The adoption pack includes:

  • Certificate of adoption
  • FUN fact sheet
  • Welcome letter
  • A cute cuddly plush toy
  • 2 x admission tickets for Oceanarium (1 adult + 1 child)
  • A magnet and keyring including a picture of your adopted animal.
  • NEW: Penguin personalities - Find out all the personalities of the penguins at the Oceanarium

You will also have your name displayed outside the animal enclosure for 12 months and a donation will be made to a charity supported by the Oceanarium on behalf of your adoption purchase.  
All this for the very special price of only £50 + £5 p&p.

Adoption FAQs

  • How much does an adoption cost?

    A postal adoption pack costs £50 plus £5 postage. Payment is made as a one-off payment for the whole year.

    Adoption packs in the gift shop cost £29.99

  • Can I adopt an individual animal?

    When you adopt an animal at the Oceanarium, you adopt the species as a whole rather than an individual animal. This is because the Oceanarium is involved in a wide range of national breeding programmes and individual animals may need to move to other zoos and aquariums.

  • What do you receive in an animal adoption pack?

    The postal adoption packs include:

    • Plush cuddly toy
    • Keyring
    • Magnet
    • 2 x admission tickets for Oceanarium (1 adult + 1 child)

  • What animal adoptions are available?

    The Oceanarium will launch with penguin adoptions and in the new year, we will expand to other animal adoption packs…watch this space!

  • How long does it take for the postal adopter’s name to appear on the adoption board?

    The name will be processed on the adoption board at the end of the month purchased.  Adoption packs purchased in the gift shop does not include a name on the adoption board.

  • How long does it take for the adoption to arrive?

    Adoptions are posted as second-class post via Royal Mail, please allow one week for the package to arrive.

  • How can I buy an adoption?

    To pay for a postal adoption pack, simply call 01202 311 993 extension 3.
    You can also visit us to purchase a gift shop adoption pack.
