Ticket Definitions

Adult - aged 16 – 59 years
Senior - aged 60 years +
Student - must show valid student ID
Child - aged 3- 15 years inclusive and must be accompanied by a responsible adult
Family - maximum of 2 adults
Disabled - must show valid proof of disability – showing either proof of DLA, PIP, DID, Blue Badge, Access Card, Disabled Persons Bus Pass or a signed letter from your GP. Please don’t be offended by our staff asking – some disabilities are not visible and we try to treat all our visitors the same.
Carer - a person who is registered as a carer to accompany an adult or child with disabilities (carer and disability proof required). Carers must present either a valid carers card, proof of carers allowance or any other form of proof. If you do require a carer ticket this will need to be claimed on arrival when presenting your proof.
Under 3's - children under the age of 3 are admitted free of charge to the zoo (and do not require a ticket)

TESCO CLUBCARD VOUCHERS – WE ACCEPT CLUBCARD VOUCHERS, PLEASE SEE OUR GATE PRICE FOR THE PRICE YOU WILL BE CHARGED.

Tesco Clubcard vouchers are valid against main gate tickets only, and cannot be used in conjunction with online tickets or any other ticket offer. Please bring your confirmation (second Tesco email) with you to our admissions desk on the day you would like to visit, and we will redeem your voucher code for you. Our prices do vary so we recommend checking the price a few days before your arrival and if the vouchers are for part payment, you can pay the balance with a card or cash.

ASSISTANCE DOGS – we do not allow dogs into the aquarium unless they are ADUK-registered and trained assistance dogs. You must bring the relevant paperwork with you ready to show on arrival. All ADUK assistance dogs should be kept on a short lead at all times and under the close control of a responsible handler. It may be necessary to prevent entry into certain areas, to prevent stress for any especially sensitive animals such as penguins.

We do accept free child entry for Blue Peter Badge holders; however, this is not valid online. This offer is only valid against main gate child tickets, you must pay for an accompanying adult per Blue Peter Badge holder. 

Bikes, rollerblades, scooters, self-propelled sit-on toys, and footballs are NOT allowed in the Oceanarium for safety reasons

Planning on visiting on a wet weather day?  Please be aware that on wet days during school holidays and weekends, the Oceanarium can get extremely busy. Although we don’t have any maximum capacity as we are classed as a walk-through attraction, we are very aware of a sensible limit of visitors and will stop admitting people when we reach this. This means that if you visit on a wet day in the school holidays or on weekends, please be advised that you may have to queue for a long time to get in (some of which may be outside without cover), and that it will be very busy once you are inside the aquarium, particularly around feeding times. Please be aware that Penguin Beach Encounter is an outside exhibit so wet weather clothing is advisable. The Oceanarium is open 364 days per year (closed Christmas Day) and is an ALL-weather attraction, suitable for any weather condition; not just rainy days. However, we look forward to welcoming you on whichever day you choose to visit.
