Serrasalmus nattereri

Piranha's are found in South American Rivers such as the Amazon, Essequibo and north-eastern Brazilian coastal rivers. Adults feed mainly at dusk and dawn on insects, worms and fish. Teeth replacement on alternating sides of jaws allows continuous feeding . Its powerful dentition can inflict seroius bites.
